Budget hotel chain Premier Inn is offering an entire wedding package at a fraction of the usual cost.

Brides will get a dress, a cake and confetti and can finish the day off with a two-night stay in the hotel’s honeymoon suite.

The wedding package is thought to be the cheapest ever for the entire deal.

There is a plain, ivory strapless gown for the bride, a suit for the groom and cake for 20 people.

Staff will then dish out sandwiches and dips as well as one drink for every guest.

Struggling best men will even get a speech template to help them.

The offer comes in the wake of news that the average Brit now spends £21,089 on their nuptials.

Premier Inn spokesman Steve Conway said: “A wedding day doesn’t need to cost a fortune for it to be special.

“We hope that our bargain wedding package will help couples to have an enjoyable, romantic, stress-free day and a

honeymoon that won’t break the bank.”

Lee Roberts, 30, and Kelly Smith, 28, of London, are planning to get hitched in November, but said they were worried about the cost.

Kelly said: “I was so excited when Lee asked me to marry him, but I worried about having to spend so much money.

“This deal sounds amazing – just £199 and you get almost everything thrown in.”

The offer is available at a handful of Premier Inn’s 590 hotels, including Sheffield and Wigan.

Bad news for brides: Carrying your partner over the threshold is thing of the past as 'cheesy' wedding traditions dying out

Wedding traditions such as asking the bride's father for his daughter's hand in marriage are dying out, a study revealed today.
Researchers found the courteous gesture of asking the future father-in-law for his permission is now considered 'too cheesy'.
Another tried and tested wedding day custom which has died out is having Just Married stickers or tin cans on the car, which is now thought of as 'too noisy'.

As for the bride wearing something old, new, borrowed and blue, this tradition too has fallen by the wayside due to it being 'impractical', the study showed.

Dads picking up the bill for their daughters' nuptials is also a thing of the past at many weddings, as is the groom carrying the bride across the threshold because most couples now co-habit before their nuptials.
But it's not all bad news for brides.

Among traditions which are still alive are the groom going down on one knee to ask for his bride's hand in marriage, and big bouquets of flowers for both mums.
The trend emerged in a study of 5,000 married adults by The Wedding Inbox, an online wedding directory which helps couples prepare for the big day.
Yesterday spokesman Mitesh Lad said: 'It's a sign of the times that some wedding traditions are dying out, especially the bride's father picking up the bill.
'Weddings are more flamboyant and lavish than ever before so subsequently they cost a lot more. Therefore many couples and even in-laws all have to chip in to help pay for the big day............

Nice day for a white wedding: Brides brave blankets of smog caused by Russian wildfires

The thick blanket of white smog which hangs over Russia was not enough to put off some determined brides from tying the knot today.

The women, barely visible in their white dresses, went ahead with their nuptials, despite the shroud of smog that has descended on the country.

The eerie cloud, which has caused a fourfold increase in airborne pollutants, including carbon monoxide, is the result of forest fires which have killed 50 people nationwide.

Flights at international airports have been grounded and visibility in the capital is down to a few dozen yards as the fires continue to tear through forests and villages.

Russians wore protective face masks as dozens of forest and peat bog fires around the city continued to burn, fanned by south-easterly winds and the country's most intense heat wave in 130 years.

More than 500 separate blazes are active today, mainly across Russia's European territory, according to the Emergencies Ministry.
